Hello All!!

I know I haven’t posted much lately but recently I was featured on a blog. I wrote about what strong meant to me. Here is the link: http://strongtimes.com/blog/2010/12/8/told-from-twitter-monique510.html

Lately I have been undergoing intense training preparing for my first fitness competition. I will be competing in the Figure category. I will be competing in the Iron Man Magazine Naturally Championships in LA,CA on January 29, 2011. I will post progress pictures soon!

So far I have lost 2 pounds, 2 inches off of my waist, 2.5 inches off my hips and 1.5 inches off of my thighs. My goal is to get down to 120-125 before competition. I’m on a 1200 calorie diet and it’s hard at times because I LOVE FOOD, but I have the discipline to get through the long days of wanting the GOOD stuff lol.

Eating clean wasn’t as hard as I thought it’s just curbing my appetite is the hard part.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO YOU ALL!!

  1. Lie against an incline bench, with your arms holding a barbell and hanging down in a horizontal line. This will be your starting position.
  2. While keeping the upper arms stationary, curl the weight up as high as you can while squeezing the biceps. Breathe out as you perform this portion of the movement. Tip: Only the forearms should move. Do not swing the arms.
  3. After a second contraction, slowly go back to the starting position as you inhale. Tip: Make sure that you go all of the way down.
  4. Repeat for the recommended amount of repetitions.

Variations: You can perform this exercise using an E-Z bar or dumbbells.
